Manny’s: Thanksgiving Survival Strategies for Vegetarians
November 20 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Thanksgiving can be a tough time for people who don’t eat meat or other traditional holiday dishes. As a food-centric holiday, discussions around food inevitably arise. This can make for some uncomfortable experiences, not just for veg folks, but for others as well.
Whether you’re already vegetarian, vegan, or just veg-curious, come out and explore some ideas for how to survive the upcoming holidays. We’ll interactively discuss ways to handle potentially touchy discussions around food and our food systems that are more productive and life-affirming. You’ll also learn about some tasty veg dish options.
About the Speaker:
Jan Liband is a long-time plant-based and fact-based environmentalist, public speaker, and former Silicon Valley executive. In the 1980s, he learned how our industrial food systems were neither sustainable nor healthy. As a result, he made big changes in his personal life and committed himself to researching and advocating solutions for critical global issues. Mr. Liband also holds a degree in Psychology from U.C. Santa Cruz.
