Manny’s: President Obama’s Cybersecurity Advisor, Michael Daniel, & Kara Swisher
September 4 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The Russians interfered with our election. They’re at it again. What’s the plan? President Obama’s Cybersecurity Advisor is here to discuss
How safe are we from cyber threats?
What was it like to work on cybersecurity at the highest level of governments?
What is on the horizon and how can we ensure safe and secure elections and everyday life?
Michael Daniel was President Obama’s Cybersecurity advisor and currently is the President and CEO of the Cyber Threat Alliance. Kara Swisher has questions.
Michael leads the Cyber Threat Alliance (CTA) team and oversees the organization’s operations. Prior to joining the CTA in February 2017, Michael served from June 2012 to January 2017 as Special Assistant to President Obama and Cybersecurity Coordinator on the National Security Council Staff. In this role, Michael led the development of national cybersecurity strategy and policy, and ensured that the US government effectively partnered with the private sector, non-governmental organizations, and other nations.

This is event is put on by the Aspen Tech Hub. The Aspen Tech Policy Hub is a West Coast policy incubator, training a new generation of tech policy entrepreneurs. Modeled after tech incubators like Y Combinator, we take tech experts, teach them the policy process through an in-residence fellowship program in the Bay Area, and encourage them to develop outside-the-box solutions to society’s problems.
