Manny’s: July Storytime: “Summertime”

July 28, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Summer vacation. Summer camp. Summer love. Sunburns. Air-conditioning. Popsicles on a hot day. 4th of July fireworks.

This month’s Storytime theme is: SUMMERTIME

Summer is almost (technically) here! Summer has moments of magic, like the excitement of the last day of school before break, the blissful feel of the sun on your body (until it turns into an unfortunate tan line), or the special time with friends and family during the numerous summer holidays.

Is summer your favorite season? Do you have any extremely memorable summer experiences? What’s your favorite summer snack? Come share a special summer story from your life.

Storytime is a fun and interactive storytelling event hosted by Liz Morrison. Through the lens of a relatable theme, we explore our personal experiences and discover many things we have in common.

Here’s what to expect for our 90 minutes together:

THEME INTRO: We’ll explore our theme through easy games, group discussions, and a featured story. This month we will hear from storyteller and comedian, Beau Davis!

COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS: We’ll get into small groups and answer fun, thought-provoking question prompts to find things we have in common.

STORYTIME! EXCELLENT!: 3 folks will have the opportunity to get up on stage and share their theme stories with everyone.

At Storytime, everyone is encouraged to share, listen, and engage. Come swap stories and spark deeper relationships with fellow Manny’s community members. You might even meet a new friend!

We can’t wait to hear all of your amazing SUMMERTIME stories and create a memorable evening of storytelling and connection.

BONUS: 🎶 Add your favorite summer jams to our collaborative Spotify playlist.

Manny’s never turns away anyone due to lack of funds. For a complementary ticket, please email the word “grapefruit” and the title of the event to angelina@welcometomannys.com

Want to support community members? By purchasing a “Pay It Forward” ticket you will allow us to provide free tickets to those who may not be able to afford entry otherwise and ensure we can create a diverse socio-economic audience that represents San Francisco.
