Manny’s: Bold Solutions to Homelessness

February 13 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

What are some bold solutions to homelessness in our City?

The San Francisco Bay Area is facing a housing crisis that has been destabilizing families and exacerbating homelessness for many years. While the Bay Area is a leader in affordable housing, our efforts have not kept up with the demand. As a result, housing instability and suffering on our streets have become the new normal.

Jeff Kositsky will facilitate a discussion with community leaders pursing alternative housing opportunities for those in need. Jeff is the Director of San Francisco’s Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing and has 20 years of experience developing housing and shelters in the City.

· Michael Thomas – Panoramic Interest, will speak about modular housing

· Rebecca Foster – SF Housing Accelerator Fund, will speak about alternative financing models

· Larry Cohen – Point Source Youth, will speak about the host homes interim housing model for homeless youth

· Bill Pickel – Brilliant Corners, will speak about utilizing private market units to house people experiencing homelessness

In addition to hearing from this panel, we look forward to questions and ideas from the audience.
