Manny’s: A Night of Storytelling from the Survivors of the AIDS Epidemic

April 24 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The generation of LGBT people who lived through the AIDs epidemic have stories to share.

The survivors of the AIDS epidemic have a shared unique and profound experience of loss, grief, and fear. They’ve also shared experience of immense courage, strength, and organizing.

They are living, still among us, but their history, their stories, need to be heard in person. The stories of the epidemic have been immortalized in film, in writing, and in music, but there is power in witnessing one another’s experiences in a moment in time, especially across generations.

We are aiming to bring together students, young people, and folks who have lived through the epidemic to transfer knowledge and experience. In partnership with GLBT Historical Society, The Shanti Project/HONORING OUR EXPERIENCE Manny’s is hosting a night where long term survivors, folks who lived in the Bay Area during the epidemic, and those who saved lives will be here to tell their stories. Storytellers to be announced soon!
