You too can make simple and healing balms in your own home! Learn to make an all-natural salve from Calendula, a cheerful, easy-to-grow plant. Join natitve San Francisco herbalist and educator Bonnie Rose Weaver in this online, hands-on workshop.
First, you will learn about the traditional uses of Calendula and how to work with the energy of the plant to make an ointment for almost any cut, rash, or scrape. Then, you’ll be guided through the steps of making calendula salve from the comfort of your own kitchen with a combination of live video, pre-recorded lessons, and dynamic facilitation. This online class will be fun hands-on learning and perfect for those new to herbs!
* Upon registration, you will be provided a supply list so you can make your salve as the workshop proceeds, or you can make it on your own later.*
Instructor: Bonnie Rose Weaver is a clinical herbalist, educator, writer, medicinal landscaper, and remedy maker. She/they are the author of Deeply Rooted: Medicinal Plant Cultivation in Techtropolis, a book based on their work at 1849 Medicine Garden. As a lifelong guest on occupied Ramaytush Ohlone land, San Francisco, CA, Bonnie Rose’s work revolves around increasing access to and education about herbal medicine for all. After seven years as a community herbalist + urban herb grower, Bonnie Rose studied at The Blue Otter School with Karyn Sanders and Sarah Holmes to become a clinical herbalist in 2017.
