Garden for the Environment: Eco-Friendly Pest Management from Mildew to Mammals
September 26, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Learn how to grow your dream garden and manage pests in it, big and small, without chemicals! Aphids invading your kale? Rust ravaging your roses? Rodents ruining your broccoli? Learn about simple, non-toxic alternatives to chemicals to keep your garden beautiful and resilient. You’ll not only people and pets safe, but also pollinators and other beneficial insects that help protect your garden in the long-run. You’ll gain insight into creating balance in your garden with Integrated Pest Managment (IPM) techniques. This class will be presented on the Zoom online conferencing platform. It will be recorded only for GFE’s archival purposes; it will not be available after the workshop to participants. Instructor: Suzanne Bontempo began offering her assistance and wisdom to Garden for the Environment in 2013. An Environmental Educator and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Advocate, Suzanne was recognized for excellence in her field, winning the 2013 IPM Innovators Award. Suzanne has worked in the horticulture industry for 20 years in a variety of capacities, with landscape contractors, leading garden maintenance teams and in Retail Nursery Management. Suzanne loves plants, loves nature, and loves sharing any information she can to help others have success in their gardens
