The San Francisco Tap Festival is an annual event that holds classes with world-renowned professional tap dancers, residencies, history lessons, a jam session, a cutting contest, an adjudicated concert and the “Shufflin’ The Fog Away” concert featuring our all-star faculty and talented students accompanied by live music.

Produced by Melissa Tannús, Brazilian tap dancer seen on So You Think You Can Dance, the festival’s goal is to create an inclusive space for the local tap community to connect, learn, inspire, dance and most importantly, have fun while celebrating this wonderful American art form. The San Francisco Tap Festival welcomes everyone: professionals and advanced tap dancers who are looking to be challenged, beginning tap dancers who are just starting their journey, adults who are passionate about tap dancing and even tap enthusiasts who are just looking to watch an incredible show.

The San Fran Tap Fest Student Showcase is a fantastic opportunity to perform your solo, duo, trio, or group routine and receive adjudication from industry professionals who truly understand and appreciate tap dance. Faculty will provide detailed feedback to help you refine your performance and prepare for competition season. Plus, it’s a great chance to be seen by professionals always on the lookout for new talent!​​​​​

If you love dancing and live music, you can’t miss our epic full-length concert happening on Sunday! San Fran Tap Fest faculty, featuring some of the best tap dancers in the world, will be bringing the heat alongside a live band. There will also be special guests like talented young dancers from Portland Youth Tap Company, ReVerb Tap Company and TapIN Dance Ensemble.
