Calle 24: Calle Limpia Corazón Contento One Year Anniversary
March 18 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Calle 24 Latino Cultural District is celebrating the one-year anniversary of Calle Limpia, Corazón Contento (Clean Streets, Happy Heart). This program is part of the Calle 24 Latino Cultural District and the American Indian Cultural District’s plan to help our communities thrive economically and continue to grow in a culturally relevant way. We are partnering with our local businesses, vendors, organizations, community members, and our sister Cultural District for our third Calle Limpia, Corazón Contento program.
The program will begin at 10:00 AM at 24th & Mission Bart Plaza with a land acknowledgment and opening words from community leaders and elders. Representatives from the American Indian and Latino Cultural Districts are celebrating this opening ceremony together to uplift each other as sister Districts and relatives to unite our communities to celebrate and honor our heritage and cultures. We will ground ourselves and the land with Danza Azteca during this ceremony.
On 24th Street Bart Plaza, Calle 24 will have a clean-up check-in table for volunteers, resource tables, and a vinyl DJ providing music for all that join the event. Our volunteers and participants will dispatch from 24th Street Bart Plaza and begin their projects at 11:00 AM throughout the Latino Cultural District. Every volunteer will receive a bag of pastries, sweets, and other delights as a thank-you for their contributions to keeping the Mission clean. Calle 24 is organizing a large group of volunteers into teams assigned to different sections of the Calle 24 Latino Cultural District and the American Indian Cultural District for a community clean-up effort. The Latino Cultural District’s parameters are from Cesar Chavez to 22nd Street, and from Bartlett to Potrero street. Volunteers will collect trash on the street and have designated drop-off points for the Department of Public Works to collect.
This ongoing Clean Streets, Happy Heart program series and partnership between American Indian Cultural District and Calle 24 Latino Cultural District aims to recover our communities with a program that includes community maintenance, vendor resources, and the promotion of culturally relevant murals and events. We are working in collaboration with the Department of Public Works and partner organizations, and we aim to incorporate a variety of community resources to help in the efforts of Calle Limpia Corazon Contento.
The American Indian Cultural District and Calle 24 Latino Cultural District invite all to join us on March 18th, to work together to strengthen and protect our community. This program is designed to bridge the gap between the City of San Francisco, business owners, vendors, and residents in the maintenance and recovery of our community.
Si Se Puede!
