Brava Theater: Indómitas: Live Podcast with guest Laura Blaconá

Indómitas is a live monthly podcast series hosted by Chelis López of KPOO and Radio Bilingüe, featuring untamable voices of fierce women artists and activists. For the June 2023 podcast, Indómitas will interview Laura Blaconá, founder of Suelo Común, a project which includes organic productions and the militancy to incorporate more territory to the productions of food without agrochemicals in Argentina.

ABOUT Laura Blaconá
Laura Blaconá nació en Rosario, Argentina.
A los 19 años se mudó a California donde trabajó en salud reproductiva. A los 27 años fue enviada a San Francisco por el California Family Health Council, para establecer una oficina satélite para la investigación de métodos anticonceptivos. Allí formó su familia y tuvo una hija.
Unos años después emprendió un proyecto creativo que incluía la producción de objetos de arte funcionales, ilustraciones en técnicas mixtas y grabados.
Trabajo que continuó cuando en 2001 se fue a vivir a Oaxaca, México.
En el 2006 volvió a California y en 2014, después de estudiar la carrera de Horticultura Orgánica, regresó a Argentina y fundó Suelo Común, un proyecto con varias aristas, que incluye producciones orgánicas y la militancia por incorporar cada vez más territorio a la producciones de alimentos sin agroquímicos en el país.

Laura Blaconá was born in Rosario, Argentina.
At the age of 19 she moved to California where she worked in reproductive health. At age 27, she was sent to San Francisco by the California Family Health Council to establish a satellite office for birth control research. In that time she formed her family and became a mother of a daughter.
A few years later she undertook a creative project that included the production of functional art objects, mixed media illustrations, and prints.
Work that she continued when in 2001 she went to live in Oaxaca, Mexico.
In 2006 she returned to California and in 2014, after studying Organic Horticulture, Laura returned to Argentina and founded Suelo Común, a project with several edges, which includes organic productions and the militancy to incorporate more and more territory to the productions of food without agrochemicals in the country.
