Aideed Medina

ENGLISH

Amidst the vibrant pulse of April—when poetry blossoms in every corner of the United States—the Brava Theater Cabaret in San Francisco prepares for an afternoon of *Indómitas* that promises to be truly remarkable.

This month, we raise our voices to celebrate those who write from the roots, from memory, and from the struggle. For this National Poetry Month, we interview an indispensable voice: Aideed Medina, the seventh Poet Laureate of Fresno.

Her writing honors the labor and struggles of those who work in the fields, while bringing into focus their strength, their resilience, and their immense contributions.

Her work has appeared in various publications, theatrical productions, and murals. She is the author of *31 Hummingbird* (Editorial Xingao), *Segmented Bodies* (Prickly Pear Publishing), and a binational chapbook—a selection of poems drawn from *Segmented Bodies* and *Salmos de la Sierra Madre*—produced in collaboration with Aziz Córdova (Autonomous University of Nuevo León, Mexico).

Come and hear, live, a voice that is indomitable, generous, and profoundly human.
