Celebrate Mexican Independence Day with a vibrant pre-performance by the all-female Mexican trio, Las Coronelas, followed by Bridging Gaps: Enhancing Latine Presence in Bay Area Arts.

This panel discussion, moderated by writer, actor, producer, and arts educator Paul S. Flores, will explore the impact of Latine arts in the Bay Area. The event features insights from Virginia Blanco (Founder and Executive Artistic Director at La Lengua Teatro en Español); David Mendizábal (Associate Artistic Director at Berkeley Rep); Dr. Berta Hernandez (Director of the Teatro Comunitario, project at the Mission Cultural Center).; and KJ Sanchez, Founder/CEO of American Records and area head of UT Austin’s M.F.A. in Theatre, playwriting/directing programs.

They’ll address misconceptions about Latine audiences, discuss strategies for integrating Latine artists into the mainstream, and inspire action to support Latine contributions to the arts.
