Bernal Heights Outdoor Cinema: Film Crawl on Cortland Avenue

Bernal Heights Outdoor Cinema returns this September for Season #22, offering free screenings of local independent films in parks, cafés, studios, galleries, and other cherished public spaces.
Founded in the diverse, quirky neighborhood of Bernal Heights, Bernal Heights Outdoor Cinema celebrates San Francisco’s cultural, racial, and economic diversity while showcasing Bay Area filmmakers and fostering connections across the city’s creative community. Come as you are, with your love for films and our city, and stay for the beautiful stories via local indie films.
ALL EVENTS ARE FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Registration for Film Crawls will be available on Eventbrite and is highly encouraged.

Thursday, Sept. 4 from 7-10 pm
Film Crawl on Mission Street
We are kicking off Season #22 with Film Crawl in Mission St & 29th St Corridor, with four venues including Studio 45, Cafe Seventy8, STEMful, and The Magic Patio. All-age screenings start at 7 and 8 pm, and “Adults Only” screening starts at 9 pm.
Friday, Sept. 5 from 7-10 pm
Film Crawl on Cortland Avenue
We are thrilled to return to Cortland Avenue for a new season of film crawl in five venues: Bernal Library, Progressive Grounds Cafe, Inclusions Gallery, Baukunst, and the Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center. All-age screenings start at 7 and 8 pm, and “Adults Only” screening starts at 9 pm.
Saturday, Sept. 6 from 6- 9:30 pm
Under the Stars at Precita Park
Under the Stars is the annual neighborhood tradition of enjoying local films in an outdoor cinema with family, friends, and community partners. All are invited to bring picnics, blankets and beach chairs. Pre-screening activities at Precita Park feature local musicians, artists, neighborhood organizations and family friendly games and activities.
