BAVC: Tech Talk Tuesday: Exploring Careers in Coding

Kick off the New Year of new career possibilities by joining our Tech Talk Tuesdays, our monthly speaker series, where insiders from tech and other industries share the tips and learning experiences they’ve gathered while job-hunting and networking. You’ll leave with new perspectives and new tools to help you on your own career path.

Come mingle with fellow TechSF participants and future applicants, enjoy refreshments, and learn new approaches to navigating the field.

Speaker: Gary Lam, Software Engineer, Twitter

A Q&A session with BAVC’s Workforce Development Lead, Annie Tahtinen, we’ll hear from Gary Lam, a Software Engineer at Twitter about his experiences building a career as an engineer and what it’s like working at Twitter. We’ll talk about skills he and his team look for when recruiting for new members.

More about Gary: Gary Lam is the technical lead of the Notifications timeline team at Twitter. He and his team are responsible for Twitter’s notifications platform and notifications timeline. Prior to working on Notifications he was the technical lead for Twitter’s Machine Learning Platform and helped build out Twitter’s underlying machine learning infrastructure.
