SAM GREEN: THE OLDEST PERSON IN THE WORLD +

Sam is OC’s favorite godson, and we’re pleased as punch to once again present the Bay Area theatrical premiere of the latest product of his very healthy intellectual curiosity! Throughout a decades-long global journey, Sam has chronicled the ever-changing record-holders of the title of Oldest Person Alive. As the years go by, and Sam meets the next, and the next, oldest person in the world, his personal fascination with what the title means becomes entangled with his own experience of time, and the joys and pains of his own life. What began as a portrait of longevity becomes an alternatively earnest and wry meditation on the passage of time, the randomness of fate, and the profound human experience of being alive.

Opening the program are three Green shorts, including the SF-lensed N-Judah and Pie Fight ’69 (with Christian Bruno) and more! Sam appears in a customized video intro to our OC show. DJ Beau Day Shus spins vinyl on the sidewalk before the show.
