This workshop is for caregivers and kids to do the most important thing in the world: PLAY TOGETHER. Specifically,it’s about collaborative expression, so all participants feel honored, feel like they get to contribute their artistic strengths. So how do we do that? What are techniques to make art so everyone feels like an equal voice?

Enter best-selling novelist, memoirist, and screenwriter Joshua Mohr, and his 10 year old daughter, Ava. The two of them have a book coming out in September, in which both contributed creatively to the project. And both had an absolute blast! By the end of the workshop, participants will have the beginnings of an artistic project that they can bring home, finish together, and find that ultimate joy that exists in making art with somebody you love.

After registering, staff will reach out to offer a spot depending on eligibility and availability in the program. Our workshops are open to anyone, but we do give priority to SFUSD students with socio-economic need and hold spaces for students enrolled in our other programs.
