Laura Foote is a co-founder of the influential YIMBY (Yes In My Backyard) movement and Executive Director of YIMBY Action, the nation’s largest pro-housing political network. Recognizing the urgent need for systemic solutions to the housing crisis, Laura has mobilized tens of thousands of advocates, shaped policy agendas, and built broad coalitions to advance affordable, equitable, and sustainable housing across the United States.
Under her strategic leadership, YIMBY Action has supported hundreds of pro-housing measures and played a pivotal role in electing over 130 pro-housing officials at all levels of government. Sam Moss is the Executive Director of Mission Housing Development Corporation, where he leads the organization’s efforts to create and preserve affordable housing for low-income communities in San Francisco.
Under his leadership, Mission Housing is advancing the development of more than 1,000 affordable housing units across the city, expanding access to stable housing while supporting the long-term vitality of San Francisco neighborhoods and communities. With a background in real estate and a strong commitment to public service, Sam has guided the implementation of housing strategies that prioritize sustainability, transit accessibility, and equitable community development.
He is dedicated to upholding Mission Housing’s mission and ensuring its continued organizational and financial strength. Sam also recognizes the critical role of staff and community partners in delivering high-quality services and fostering meaningful resident engagement. Through his leadership, Mission Housing continues to build on its legacy while addressing the evolving housing needs of San Francisco residents.
