Presented by Clean Streets
Good afternoon!
Io Yeh Gilman reports that two of the city’s biggest public-sector unions say they’ll fight “every one” of Mayor Daniel Lurie‘s proposed layoffs. Read about what’s likely to happen, and the impact on labor’s push for Prop D, the “Overpaid CEO” measure.
One person was shot yesterday afternoon on Mission near 18th Street, after a “big fight.” The victim ran into the nonprofit organization HOMEY, where youth staff administered first aid until an ambulance came.
And over in Mission Bay, SFPD officers arrested a man who allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at the home of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and threatened to burn down OpenAI headquarters.
Check out Jay A. Martin‘s stories about conversations with Bayview residents, and his beautiful black-and-white photos of the neighborhood.
