Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

D1 Supervisor Connie Chan has announced her run to succeed Rep. Nancy Pelosi in Congress. Chan, a progressive with strong ties to unions, is up against state senator Scott Weiner and former tech executive Saikat Chakrabarti.

Hey, you should read Charles Lewis III‘s bitingโ€”and entertainingโ€”review of the new KAWS exhibit at SFMOMA, “a Technicolor collection of lucrative corporate appropriation of street-level talent.” See what you think.

And speaking of street-level talent, Oscar Palma reports that city anti-graffiti workers have painted over the Valencia Art Wall, a destination for artists’ political expression for over 20 years. Take a look at our photos of the ever-changing collage.

More soon,

Sara
