Jennifer Friedenbach, the architect of Prop C, is likely to lose her seat on the Prop C Oversight Committee, reports Xueer Lu. Friedenbach has opposed Mayor Daniel Lurie‘s redirection of Prop C funds away from housing toward shelters.
State Senator Scott Weiner has jumped into the race for Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi’s seat, with housing as his signature issue. Joe Eskenazi analyzes the challenge Weiner faces from Saikat Chakrabarti, a “young, handsome, charismatic and obscenely wealthy tech bro turned progressive firebrand.”
