Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

Is anyone else having trouble making choices? D10 Supervisor Shamann Walton, who’s already endorsed Sup. Aaron Peskin for mayor, said that he’s also endorsing Mayor London Breed. Walton, who’s been critical of Breed, said it was “important and exciting” to see Black representation in city leadership.

Meanwhile, mayoral candidate Ahsha Safaí stumped for Prop M, a tax reform ballot initiative, but also for Prop L, to help fund Muni through a tax on ride-share companies. The catch? A “poison-pill” clause means that L will be voided if M gets more votes.

We’re continuing to roll out our 60-second explainers on all the San Francisco ballot measures. Up today: Props E and F, with more coming tomorrow!

Believe it or not, there’s more to the news than the upcoming elections. In Bernal Heights, read how neighbors are trying to turn a neglected block into a community garden.

More soon,

Sara
