Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

Terry Williams, a Black Alamo Square resident and dogwalker who was sent a doll with a noose around its neck in April, got another package on his doorstep this weekend featuring racist cartoons and Ku Klux Klan images.

We asked the D9 candidates for supervisor about solutions for the trash in the district. Everyone agreed more trash cans are needed; only one called for “culturally-specific murals” on the cans “to instill a sense of neighborhood pride.”

Don’t forget: Ace political reporters (Mission Local’s Joe Eskenazi and the Chron’s Joe Garofoli) will be at Manny’s this evening, sharing their insights about the mayoral race. Get your tickets here, and bring your questions!

More soon,

Sara
