Brava Theater: Who’s Your Mami Comedy

Whether you abstain or indulge, get high on laughs when the comedians of “Who’s Your Mami Comedy” celebrate San Francisco’s whackiest holiday, 420, on Thursday April 20th, 2023. It might be 420 but the show starts on time at 7:30 PM. After selling out our last two shows in a flash BRAVA presents more badass and far out comedians for your giggling pleasure: Sampson McCormick, Natasha Muse, Shanti Charan and Marga Gomez. “Who’s Your Mami Comedy” continues every third Thursday of the month. Full bar available. No smoking. Bring your own munchees.
(Comedian lineups are correct as of publishing date and (although unlikely, are subject to change)
ABOUT THE COMEDIANs
Sampson McCormick is a nationally touring ground-breaking black gay comedian. As a director, actor and activist with several comedy specials under his belt, Sampson can also be seen in “B-Boy Blues” on BET and “Love The One You’re With” on Amazon Prime. In 2018 Sampson made history as the first LGBTQ comic to headline the Smithsonian Museum.
Shanti Charan was named San Francisco Bay Guardian’s “Best Comedian” in their Annual “Best of SF” edition. SF Weekly awarded Shanti “Best Stand Up on the Way Up”, stating Charan’s writing, “is clever and confident beyond her years”. The daughter of immigrants, Shanti’s humor reflects her experience as an Indo-Fijian woman, growing up as a second generation American.
Natasha Muse is a stand-up comedian and humorous writer who moved to San Francisco last century and hasn’t been pushed out of the City (yet). She likes puns, wordplay, and portmanteaus, and enjoys weaving them into jokes and comical bits about being trans, being a mom, and being alone with her thoughts. Natasha has has worked with such comedy luminaries as Maria Bamford and Janeane Garofalo.
Hosted by Marga GomeZ
Marga Gomez was named “ 2022 Best of The Bay Comedian” by readers of 48 Hills. She is a proud artist-in-residence at Brava Theater and has been the curator of “Who’s Your Mami Comedy” since 2019. margagomez.com
