A drive-by shooting with a paintball gun sent a man who was hit in the eye to the hospital. Though his injuries are non-life-threatening, he cannot see out of the injured eye.
At 12:35 a.m. on Cortland and Mission streets in Bernal Heights on Thursday, a 55-year-old man was walking south on Mission Street when two men in their 20s pulled up alongside the man in a white sedan with tinted windows. One of the pair attempted to talk to the man, who ignored him and continued walking along Mission.
As the man turned to face the pair in the car, he was shot in the eye with a paintball gun. The two sped off southbound on Mission Street, and the police have not made an arrest.
The man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for lacerations to the eye and was blinded when he entered, though his condition is unknown at this time.
