The End but it's my Beginning Photo by Kathleen Narruhn

It’s 55˚ and expected to rise to 65˚. Details for the next ten days are here.

This morning’s block: Clinton Park – Brosnan St, Guerrero to Valencia Streets.

For weeks, our weather has been going from overcast to giving us some sun and then taking it back. Today began overcast – at least at  7:20 a.m.

I began my photo walk at Guerrero & Brosnan St which is more of an alley. On one corner is Francis of Assisi Community Housing for Seniors. Back in 1912 it was Mary’s
Help Hospital. I remember visiting a girlfriend there when I was a teen. Those were the days of candy striped young female volunteers. As I walked down Clinton Park,  which isn’t a park but another side alley, I reached the old Levi Strauss Building. The factory once made many a par of blue jeans. My husband’s aunt worked here years ago. Today the building houses the SF Friends School. I’m glad they kept it the original color of yellow.   These two large buildings take up the majority of the block which my photos reveal.  Have a wonderful weekend, Kathleen

With the light good early on, so much the better to sign on and document your block. Don’t wait! Let us know what day and block you would like at info@missionlocal.com.

You can see a map of all of the blocks here. The blocks in grey are being saved for others who have signed up. Let us save a block for you as well.

Follow Us

I have lived in San Francisco since 1961 when my Dad moved us for his new employment from Stockton, CA. It was great growing up in the City back then. We lived in Eureka Valley and when I became an adult I moved over the hill to Noe Valley. In 1982 we looked to buy property and settled in the Mission. We bought a pair of flats with friends & we both raised our families here. Our adult children have moved on. We remain and continue to watch the neighborhood change.
