Three robberies and a hot prowl took place this weekend, leaving victims with losses ranging from money to cell phones to bicycles. Farther South along Mission street, a police officer was nearly hit by a suspect’s car.

The two bicycles in question were stolen from a home on Dolores Terrace around 4 a.m. Saturday morning. The perpetrator had apparently gained access to the building through a ground floor window, made his or her way into the garage, and absconded with two bicycles, leaving the garage door wide open.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers were flagged down by store security near 29th and Mission streets. The security guard said that a 32-year-old male was in the bathroom with a female victim of unknown age. When police confronted the suspect, he got in a black sedan. He reversed sharply, nearly hitting an officer, before attempting to flee against traffic down San Jose Avenue and being arrested.

Just before 2 a.m. on Sunday, a 48-year-old man approached another 48-year-old man on Mission street between 15th and 16th streets and asked him for change. The second man then punched the panhandler in the face and grabbed his belongings. Police took the aggressor into custody and returned the victim’s belongings. The victim suffered a cut to the lip but refused treatment.

At 2:40 a.m., a 29-year-old man walked out of a restaurant at 19th and Mission streets when he was confronted by four suspects armed with knives and sticks. A fight broke out, and the victim was cut on the arm and transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment. All four suspects were arrested.

Meanwhile on Shotwell between 14th and 15th streets, at around the same time, a 29-year old woman was approached by two other women who asked to use her cell phone. She handed it to them and one of the suspects sprayed her with pepper spray before the two of them fled the scene with her phone. No arrests were made.

A 26-year-old man was approached and then beaten by four men on the intersection of 26th and Folsom streets at 7:40 p.m. also on Sunday. The men stole the victim’s cell phone, and he was left with non-life-threatening bruising and scrapes on his body. The man was not transported to the hospital and no arrests were made.
