The closing of Dolores Park to renovate its irrigation and drainage system might be an inconvenience for you, although half the park is still open. With the sunny weather coming this weekend, you may want to explore other parks not too far from your beloved Mission.

Here are five alternatives, suggested by SF Park and Rec. My favorite of their options is Precita Park. Taking a nice walk on Folsom Street over to this smaller but flatter park, stopping on the way there to get a coffee at Philz on 24th — or if it’s too hot, a juice from Sidewalk Juice — doesn’t sound like a bad idea to me. I’m guessing we would also get something to picnic on while laying on the grass and reading a newspaper.

Enjoy your weekend!
