City College is organizing a search for a new chancellor, reports the Examiner. The search was postponed last fall when the school was under fire to submit a report to the accreditation commission. The report was filed last week.

There will be a community meeting tonight to discuss the future of Carnaval in the Mission, according to Mission Mission. The festivities are in jeopardy due to increasing financial requirements and debt. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Brava Theater, 2781 24th St.

Carlos Ramirez, a local poet, passed away on March 10 after he was diagnosed with a brain tumor, reports El Tecolote. Ramirez was a member of a poetry group Talleres de Poesia, which held a special poetry session in his honor on Friday, March 15.
