The goal of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, in its seventh parking-rate adjustment under the SFpark program, is to make sure that approximately one parking spot is always available on every metered block of the city. This means that for the first time some of San Francisco’s curbside parking meters will hit an hourly rate of $5.25.

If you’re not yet dusting off that bike helmet, consider this: beginning Jan. 1, drivers citywide will have to plug parking meters on Sundays. SF Gate has the details.
