A few dozen people gathered on El Rio’s outside patio Saturday afternoon to raise funds for the 99 Cent Print Collective, a group of writers, poets and artists. The group began as a collaborative effort to regularly distribute news about the Occupy movement, and has since expanded into a collective whose members support each other’s activism through print.
Some of their projects include San Francisco Art and Politics and a 20th anniversary anthology of SF Critical Mass, in addition to pamphlets, stickers and other propaganda that “demonstrate the unsettling consciousness around the corporate, institutional culture of Capitalism.”
The Festival of Resistance, as it was called, featured live music and poetry readings.
