Yesterday Mayor Ed Lee said that the parking meters proposed for the Mission and other southeastern neighborhoods will be rolled out despite opposition from residents.

“It really is not so much whether they roll it out or not, it’s really how they roll it out,” Lee told the Board of Supervisors yesterday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The Obama administration and the federal Department of Transportation are watching the SFPark program closely, he added.
