A man punched a gas station attendant while attempting to steal a carton of cigarettes on Saturday afternoon, police said.
At around 2:12 p.m., a man entered the market at the gas station on the corner of South Van Ness and 16th streets. He took a carton of cigarettes and began to walk out of the market without paying. When the cashier tried to stop him, the suspect punched him in the face and fled.
The suspect was described as a man in his 40s driving a Nissan pickup truck.
Two men robbed a 20-year-old woman early Sunday morning on Florida and 18th streets.
At around 3:50 a.m., the woman was approached by two men who punched and kicked her several times in the face. One searched her pockets, taking cash and a music player. Both suspects then fled on foot. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, including a swollen eye. She refused medical care and was unable to give a detailed description of the suspects.
A 53-year-old man was transported to the hospital after a fight with another man on Sunday at 16th and Mission.
The two men were arguing at around 6:34 p.m. when one, described as in his 40s, struck the other in the head with an unknown object. No arrest has been made.
