Help raise the remaining production funds for a rad soccer documentary by UC Berkeley School of Journalism grad Betty Bastidas this Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
“DreamTown” is an uplifting underdog story about how soccer has transformed a small Afro-Ecuadorian community in Ecuador that would still be invisible were it not for the basic resources its soccer players provide to their community through their success in the sport. The film just got a grant from HBO/NALIP, a shorter version was published in Frontline World|PBS and a Kickstarter campaign is going on RIGHT NOW to complete the film and spread awareness.
For more information, visit the film’s website at www.voicesofdreamtown.com.
Filmmaker Betty Bastidas will answer questions after the screening.
