District 8 Supervisor Scott Wiener, who represents the west side of the Mission, went on Facebook over the weekend to talk about ways to create jobs.
The messages are a little vague, because he only provided links to what he likes and doesn’t like.
He basically praised the governor’s commitment to helping tech firms create and keep jobs in the state. He likes the idea of overhauling the payroll tax companies must pay. He dislikes the controversial plan to give out more parking tickets to close Muni’s deficit.
As the Examiner noted, Board of Supervisors President David Chiu proposed to end the payroll tax last year but failed. He plans to introduce the proposal again this year, and it could get traction this time around, because the new Board of Supervisors is believed to be more moderate.
