SUMMARY:Public Works: Nicola Cruz with special guest Mesme presented by PW
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, April 17th\, 9:30pm – 2:30am \nFull Space / 21+ / Limited Capacity \nWant free entry? Check out the PW Union where members get event access\, drinks\, skip the line\, and more: www.publicsf.com/membership \nCurious about more ticket options\, deals\, and ways to party? Check out our website at www.publicsf.com \nPublic Works presents the genre bending master Nicola Cruz. \nLINEUP: \nNicola Cruz \nMESME \n+ more TBA \nNICOLA CRUZ BIO: \nNicola Cruz is an Ecuadorian electronic music producer and DJ known for blending Andean\, Latin American\, and Afro-Caribbean influences with contemporary electronic production. Born in France to Ecuadorian parents and raised in Quito\, his cross-cultural background plays a defining role in his sound. \nHe gained international recognition with his 2015 debut album Prender el Alma\, released on ZZK Records\, which fused traditional instrumentation and folkloric rhythms with deep\, atmospheric club textures. The record positioned him as a key figure in the emerging wave of forward-thinking Latin American electronic artists. \nCruz’s work often explores themes of identity\, ancestry\, and ritual\, combining field recordings\, organic percussion\, and analog synths into immersive compositions suited for both listening and dance floors. Over the years\, he has performed at major festivals and clubs worldwide\, building a reputation for hypnotic\, genre-blurring sets that bridge heritage and modernity. \nMESME BIO: \nDrawing inspiration from her favorite crime fiction and neo-noir films\, Mesmé’s entrance into the City of Angels from the Midwest via Singapore created a rapid buzz in the LA underground\, thanks to her vinyl-heavy sets\, striking selections\, and ability to build an intoxicating vibe from the ground up. \nDescribed by Boiler Room as one of Los Angeles’ hidden gems\, she is now one of the city’s most in-demand young DJs\, sought after by bookers from nearly every crew and corner of the LA scene\, from the city’s dimly-lit lounges to its various infamous downtown warehouse parties—and for good reason. Her insatiable passion and rich knowledge of music make for a trusted and savvy artist with a broad\, but distinctively moody range and “a sense of pacing that’s more honed than many headlining DJs.” (Resident Advisor) \nAs comfortable playing in a smoky lounge as she is in a sweaty warehouse\, her peak-time sets feature a heady yet potent blend of deep\, dusty atmospheres\, experimental textures\, raw bass lines\, and sultry vocals layered over thumping\, syncopated drums. \nMesmé’s signature sets and ability to capture the imagination of her audiences have made her a beloved\, and influential member of the LA circuit and beyond\, landing her multiple coveted affiliations\, including a residency at top LA warehouse party\, Into The Woods\, a monthly radio show (Mise-en-scène) on renowned independent radio station\, dublab\, plus personal invitations from Jamie xx\, DVS1\, and Ellen Allien to share the bill. She was awarded Resident Advisor’s Mix of the Day twice and has been highlighted as an emerging artist on the industry radar by DJ Mag and Beatportal. \nAside from her rising career as a DJ\, Mesmé is also a producer-to-watch. She made her production debut in 2020 with a sold-out five-track EP on Mall Grab’s label\, Steel City Dance Discs\, which was quickly followed by a Boiler Room appearance alongside Boyz Noise in 2021 and a spot on the Surefire Agency roster. 2022 saw her make a massive sold-out NYC debut in the main hall of Elsewhere alongside Mall Grab\, followed by a string of club and festival appearances across the country. \nMesmé has appeared with: \nBaltra\, Bambounou\, Ben UFO\, Boys Noize\, DJ Boring\, DJ Seinfeld\, Darand Land\, DVS1\, Etapp Kyle\, Ellen Allien\, FJAAK\, Four Tet\, Hodge\, Jamie XX\, Jensen Interceptor\, John Tejada\, Joy Orbison\, Kenny Larkin\, Kevin Saunderson\, Laurel Halo\, Lena Willikens\, Mall Grab\, Martyn\, Nastia\, Moderat\, Nite Fleit\, Objekt\, Santiago Salazar\, Silent Servant\, Tin Man and The Field.

SUMMARY:Public Works: Snakehips presented by PW
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, April 18th\, 9pm – 2am \nFull Space / 21+ / Limited Capacity \nWant free entry? Check out the PW Union where members get event access\, drinks\, skip the line\, and more: www.publicsf.com/membership \nCurious about more ticket options\, deals\, and ways to party? Check out our website at www.publicsf.com \nSnakehips touch down at Public Works for a night of sleek\, late-night dance music and low-key chaos. The London duo blend R&B\, house\, and pop into the kind of set that starts smooth and ends sweaty. Expect polished grooves\, heavy bass\, and just enough nostalgia to keep your phone in your pocket. Doors open\, good decisions optional. \nSNAKEHIPS BIO: \nSnakehips are a London-based production duo known for turning smooth R&B and house into chart-friendly trouble. Breaking through with the platinum hit “All My Friends\,” they built a reputation for glossy hooks\, club-ready bass\, and collaborations that read like a very well-curated Spotify playlist. \nEqually at home on festival stages and in dark rooms after midnight\, Snakehips blur the line between pop and underground without pretending it’s an accident. Their sets move fast\, hit hard\, and leave just enough melody behind to make the comedown sting.
