One person was killed and four others wounded in a Bayview shooting early Saturday morning, minutes after July 4 ended, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
Police officers responded to Harbor Road, a short street in Bayview near India Basin Park, at 12:07 a.m. on July 5, the department wrote, in response to a shooting. When they arrived, officers found several victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
After rendering aid, five were transported to the hospital — two with life-threatening injuries, and three with less grave injuries.
One of the victims “succumbed to their injuries,” according to the department. The department’s homicide unit is investigating.
If the killing is ruled a homicide, it would be San Francisco’s 12th for the year, according to police data. This time last year, the city had 17 recorded homicides. San Francisco homicides in 2024 were at a 60-year low.

This is a developing story and will be updated with more information.

I know why this happened. Bayview residents used M80s to hide the sound of purposeful gunshots! Why doesn’t the news shows report how Bayview was out of control with gunfire?!
