  1. I hate to be a downer, but Pride of Madera is hideously invasive and is taking over our coastal plant communities, with a tragic loss of biodiversity. It has a superficially pleasing, indeed glamorous appearance but basically contributes nothing to the local community, appropriating resources instead. Any analogies with tech companies are left as an exercise for the reader.
