The San Francisco Police Department arrested a suspect Monday in a fatal stabbing on Nov. 29 that occurred near Mission and Sycamore streets.
The victim’s identity is not yet known.
The suspect has been identified as Hector Armando Lopez Romero, an 18-year-old who is being held at the San Francisco County Jail on two felony charges, including murder, according to the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation is currently led by the San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail, which identified the suspect and developed probable cause to obtain search warrants.
Mission Station patrol officers located the suspect on Monday and took him into custody. It’s unclear where they found him. Investigators later seized evidence relevant to the case at residences in San Francisco.
At around 6:25 a.m. on Nov. 29, police officers responded to the area, and located a victim with life-threatening stab wounds, according to the police department. Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the victim to the hospital, where the victim died, despite life-saving efforts.
