    1. So let me get this straight then…. A bunch of commissions, stacked with people who weren’t elected, who have the ability to make policy decisions which affect our lives, are considered “democratic?”

      Keep in mind many of these commissions members don’t even live here. Many actually have to fly in. Hence why they never get quorum, and why important decisions get put off for months or years. City Attorney and California’s Brown Act won’t allow them to vote remote.

    Commissions as a whole have devolved into little more than a vehicle for aspiring politicos to enter the SF one party political circus and to generate political capital out of thin air. As London Breed showed with police commission appointments, if appointees don’t preemptively feel in debt, they are made to feel so.
    It is time to remove a few chairs from this game of musical chairs.
