“Accidente por Tacuasines en el Camino” [Accident caused by opossums in the road]

An exhibition of paintings by Tz’utuhil Mayan artist, Diego Isaias Hernández Méndez from Guatemala, just opened at Glama-Rama on Valencia Street. The exhibition is entitled “The Maya Cosmos: Humans out of synch with the natural world.” It includes colorful oil paintings of the spirits that inhabit the Maya world but are often unseen by humans even though animals may realize their existence.

Hernández is visiting San Francisco from Guatemala for the first time and will be at the reception at Glama-Rama, this Saturday night, August 27 from 7:30 to 10:30. The address is 304 Valencia Street at 14th. The exhibition goes until October 9.
