Some 20,000 PG&E customers lost power at 5:49 p.m. on Wednesday evening due to an unknown fault or failure somewhere in SoMa. The outage covered the Mission, Potrero Hill, Dogpatch, SoMa, Twin Peaks, the Castro, and Noe Valley.

By 6:54, all affected customers had had their power restored, and though a PG&E spokesperson said the cause was still unclear, he added crews were on scene in SoMa to investigate.

“The safety of our customers, crews and first responders is our top priority,” said JD Guidi, a corporate relations representative at PG&E.
