Two men were robbed last night in the Mission District, one of whom was taken to the hospital after being punched in the face. Additionally, a man was shot and injured Monday evening in an attack that was likely aimed at a group of mourners gathered for the funeral of another man shot and killed last week.

At 10:30 p.m. on Monday, an 18-year-old man was standing near the corner of 20th Street and South Van Ness Avenue when a 30-year-old man ran up to him and put a knife to the victim, demanding his belongings. The suspect then punched the man in the face and knocked him to the ground, where the suspect and another 30-year-old man rifled through his pockets.

The two suspects stole a wallet with cash before fleeing on foot eastbound on 20th Street. The victim was taken to the hospital for dizziness, and the police have not made any arrests.

And Tuesday morning at 12:40 a.m., a 52-year-old man was walking down Capp Street when an 18-year-old man pulled him from behind, put a gun on him, and demanded his belongings. The suspect hit the victim over the head with a revolver and took his backpack and wallet, running away on foot with a partner.

The police later arrested both men, who matched descriptions given by the victim.

Crime is trauma and the county offers different services. Here is a link to a page of services.
