Police report five robberies occurred on July 9 and 10, one of which left a victim injured.

At 1 a.m. on July 9, a 41-year-old man was walking on Shotwell Street toward 21st street when a young man, estimated to be between 17 and 20 years old, approached him from behind and pulled out a gun. The suspect demanded money, and the victim handed over a wallet containing cash and a driver’s license. The suspect fled along 21st Street toward Mission Street and was not arrested.

A 19-year-old man was approached by five men, all wearing red clothing, at 24th and Mission streets at 11:45 p.m. on Saturday. One of the men confronted the 19-year-old, who was holding some money in his hand. Two of the men punched the victim in the face, then threw him on the ground, where his money fell out of his hand. The suspects took the money and fled northbound on Mission Street.

The victim then began to walk home, but realized that the suspects had followed him. Once in his home the victim called 911 and reported that the suspects had boarded a bus and left. No arrests were made.

On Sunday at 12:55 a.m., a 53-year-old man asked two men in their early 20s for directions at the corner of San Carlos  and 19th streets. The young men provided directions, but then pulled out a handgun and took the 53-year-old’s money from his hand and fled. No arrest was made.

Later that morning, at 2:15 a.m., two men, one 18 and the other 25 years old, were standing in front of a bar on 16th Street between Valencia and Guerrero streets. Four men confronted the pair and then hit them with a crowbar. The suspects fled with the victims’ jewelry and left them with non-life-threatening injuries to the ear, neck, eye and arm. The victims were transported to the hospital and no arrest was made.

At 17th and Shotwell streets, a 36-year-old woman was standing on the sidewalk at 6:40 p.m. on Sunday when a man in his 20s walked up and grabbed her phone. The victim chased the robber, but he pushed her down, got in a sedan, and fled southbound on Folsom Street.
