Police report that around 10:45 p.m., the occupants of a theater near 17th and Shotwell streets heard a commotion outside and the sound of a window to the building breaking. Worried that someone had fired a gun, the occupants of the theater hid inside, called 911, and reported a possible shooting. After officers responded and made contact with those inside by phone, Special Operations Bureau officers entered the theater and brought the occupants outside. Police found no sign of a shooting.

Fire Investigation
On Tuesday, July 12 at 8:50 a.m., witnesses told police they saw a roughly 30-year-old man, 5 feet and 10 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds, standing near or in a tent on 16th and Alabama streets just before they saw the tent go up in flames. Firefighters responded to douse the fire and investigate, but the tent was destroyed. No arrest has been made.
Robbery
At 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, an unknown suspect approached a 42-year-old man sitting on the steps of McCoppin Hub. The suspect punched the victim in the face, causing him to lose consciousness. When the victim woke up, his wallet had been taken from his pocket and he had suffered bruising on his face. The victim was transported to the hospital, but no arrest was made.
