A 51-year-old man was walking near South Van Ness Avenue and 16th Street at 3 a.m. Wednesday morning when he was struck in the back of the head with an unknown object and fainted. The man woke up to find his cell phone and cash had been stolen from his pockets. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the police have not made an arrest.
