Update: The man who was robbed of his cellphone on Friday was none other than Supervisor Scott Wiener, who recounted his tale to San Francisco Magazine on Monday. The supervisor led the would-be thieves to the ATM so that they would be captured on camera and called the police, who were just one block away at Mission Station on 17th and Valencia. The female suspect was arrested by the police.

Original story:

On Friday at 5:45 p.m., a 45-year-old man was standing near the corner of 16th and Valencia when a woman in her 30s grabbed his cell phone and demanded that the victim pay to get it back. Two men in their 20s were watching from nearby. The victim and the suspect walked to a nearby ATM and the victim withdrew money, which he then gave to the suspect in exchange for his phone. All three suspects then fled the scene with the cash. The police have made no arrests.

Just five minutes later and down the block, a 20-year-old woman was robbed and two men forced her to enter their minivan at gunpoint. At 3:10 a.m. at Shotwell and 19th, the female victim was coerced into the silver minivan with a sliding door when one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and demanded her money.

The victim handed her money over, at which point both suspects told the victim to take off her clothes. The victim complied. The men kicked her out of the van and the suspects drove away. The police have made no arrests.
