Update: March 18, 2015 – Kathy Clarke, a reader, reports that all is well again at the 24th St. escalator.
March 17, 2015 – After months of stellar service, the 24th Street escalator at the southwest entrance to BART has stopped moving – again. This out-of-service period began sometime between last night at 10 p.m. and this morning at 10 a.m.
i think it is more newsworthy to announce when the thing is actually working!

Unfortunately, that escalator has been out for at least a week, and it was only intermittently working prior to that.
