This weekend, San Francisco Police Department report two cases of arson, an assault that led to one arrest, and a home invasion. A fight outside a bar also sent one man to the hospital with numerous lacerations.

Outside of Valenciano Bar on Valencia and 22nd, police responded to reports that a man had been stabbed shortly after midnight Friday. According to police spokesperson Officer Grace Gatpandan, the suspect, a 25-year-old woman from Georgia, knew the victim, a 35-year-old man. The two got into a verbal argument outside the bar, and she brandished a knife and cut him several times in the arm. The woman was booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. The man’s injuries on non-life-threatening.

Friday night around 7 p.m. a 33-year-old man got on a MUNI bus at Cesar Chavez and Mission. After refusing to pay, he demanded that a 59-year-old man give up his seat. When the older man refused, the two got into a physical altercation and the younger man hit the older man in the face with a bottle. Police arrived on scene and arrested the 33-year-old on four counts, including assault with a deadly weapon, public drunkenness, and fare skipping. According to Officer Gatpandan, the man also had $70,000 in outstanding warrants for driving under the influence and theft.

On 24th Street near Church Saturday evening, a suspect broke into the home of a 58-year-old woman by smashing the unit’s windows and entering. The suspect made off with two laptop computers and fled the scene.

Police and Fire Department officers responded to a burning dumpster near Bryant and 16th Street Sunday morning. Upon arriving at the scene at around 7 a.m., officers determined that the suspect had used bolt cutters to open the dumpster’s lock and then set its contents on fire. No arrests were made.

Early Monday morning, officers responded to another case of car arson on Folsom and 25th Street. Upon arriving to the scene, fire fighters extinguished the blazed and deemed it arson. The suspect is still at large.
