San Francisco Police are investigating a case of arson that occurred in the Mission late last night. An unknown suspect lit a Christmas tree on fire.

Around 11:30 Tuesday night, residents of South Van Ness found a burning tree near the corner of 16 Street. When San Francisco Fire Department arrived on scene, the flame had already been extinguished by a good samaritan.

While no one was injured, the fire did spread enough to leave burn damage to two front doors.

If you have any information about any of the incidents described above you can leave an anonymous tip at Mission Station by calling 415-552-4558.
