Bike. Photo by Geri Rebstock

It is 10:32 a.m. but these photos were taken earlier this morning. It is now 60˚ and expected to rise  to 65˚. Details for the next ten days here.

I chose the block bounded by Duboce, Guerrero, Clinton Park, and Valencia. There I found stately homes, senior housing, construction, a few local citizens, a school, colorful graffiti and some wonderful street art, including the delightful koi of artist Jeremy Novy. It’s also a great block to explore architectural detail, like street numbers and windows and moldings.

This neighborhood also boasts a KFC, and at Fred’s corner market, you can get both Coke and 7Up, as well as liquor. The neighborhood was just starting to wake up as I circled the block. I saw seniors out walking, and watering their plants, and a few tech workers taking off on bikes. Great morning.

With the light good early on, so much the better to sign on to document your block. Don’t wait!  Let us know what day and block you would like at info@missionlocal.com.

You can see a map of all of the blocks here.  The blocks in grey are being saved for others who have signed up. Let us save a block for you as well.
